No, I'm not talking about adding more stuff to that section. What I'd like to do is make some double feature dvds using films that ACTUALLY PLAYED TOGETHER ON A drive-in show. For example, I remember that "The Incredible Two-headed Transplant / The Abomnible Dr. Phibes" as one show I saw. So what I'm asking you folks out there to do is try to remember ones that you saw and let me know. You don't have to restrict your lists to movies that are here on IA, just try to remember some double-bills that you saw and let me know what you can remember. If you can think of triple-bills or quadruples let me know about them too. I'm going for as much historical accuracy as I can get and any help you give would be greatly appreciated.

Off the top of my head, I can remember FIRST SPACESHIP ON VENUS with VARAN THE UNBELIEVABLE. One double-bill from the mid-70s was taking a date to see BUG and SSSSS.

I saw "SSSSS" with "THE BOY WHO CRIED WEREWOLF".I have been looking for a copy of "WEREWOLF" but can't seem to find a copy anywhere. Good suggestions so far, but i know there's more out there. Like "I DRINK YOUR BLOOD / I EAT YOUR SKIN". I've seen promo art for that one in every monster magazine in the last 35 years.

Yeah, I don't know if BUG and SSSSS was an "official" double-feature, but they seemed to go together fairly well. Most of my drive-in trips they'd show 3 to 5 films in an evening, so it's hard to recall any actual double-features.

Shows that had more than 2 movies were rare for me but I remember one time the local theater had a scifi marathon that included PLANET OF THE VAMPIRES and THE TIME TRAVELERS. And this was a theater that usually didn't show much of the cool stuff back in the '70s.

I too saw SSSSS with The Boy Who Cried Werewolf.
I also remember seeing (some of them twice!):

Legend of Boggy Creek/Ben
Tales From the Crypt/Asylum
Tales From the Crypt/The Other
The Incredible Two-Headed Transplant/Trog (wonder if Trog is PD?)
Arnold/Battle For the Planet of the Apes
House of Dark Shadows/Night of Dark Shadows

I'm 99% sure I saw a triple bill of Destroy All Monsters/The Omega Man/The Cross and the Switchblade.

Wow! That's an unusual triple bill, to say the least!

Wasn't alive then, but I read that "The Trouble with Girls" (1969) and "The Green Slime" (1968) were released as a double feature. I don't think either film is PD, though.

Here's some results from a Google search for "movie posters double feature." Some of the results are obviously irrelevant, but it may be a good visual starting point.

Memory of double features I saw as a kid is fuzzy. At the drive-in, I remember seeing Planet of the Apes movies as double bills. I looked for movie posters for sale online, and found these:

Die Monster Die / Planet of the Vampires
Dirty Harry / Klute
Charade / Father Goose
Fun in Acapulco / Girls! Girls! Girls!
House on Haunted Hill / Daughter of Dr. Jekyll
Rosemary's Baby / The Odd Couple

Here are some more (These definitely played at drive-ins.):

The Mighty Jungle / East Of Kilmanjaro
Silent Night Bloody Night / Night of Bloody Horror
Navy vs The Nite Monsters / Women of the Prehistoric Planet
Kiss Me Kill Me / A Name For Evil
Death Promise / Hostages: The Panic Makers
Space Woman / Most Dangerous Man Alive
Female Plasma Suckers / The Virgin of Nuremberg

"The Mysterians" (not PD) appeared on a triple bill with the PD flicks "Assignment Outer Space" and "First Spaceship on Venus." Don't know if that helps.

It all helps, PD or not. I'm trying to get all the info I can for a personal project. I see some films like FIRST SPACESHIP ON VENUS has been paired up with quite a few different films.

I'm recreating actual drive-in shows on dvd for personal use. I don't think i would be able to upload the resulting programs because most of the material is copyright. I got the idea from Sinister Cinema and would like to do a few of my own. Just something to work on since it's raining here enough to keep me from working.
